On the morning of September 27, 2023, which is World Tourism Day 2023 under the theme "Tourism and Green Investment" in Siem Reap Province. To connect with the above program,

The Board of Directors, leadership team, and members of JCI Siem Reap participated in organizing a plastic waste cleanup and tree planting event to improve the Mechrey community under the theme "Green and Clean Community," with strong collaboration from the local authorities of Kaew Phor commune and Bamboo Shoot NGO, as well as monks, elders, the village committee, teachers, students, and community members from the entire Mechrey community, totaling over 200 participants.

+ The objectives of this program are to:

  • Celebrate World Tourism Day 2023
  • Participate in the campaign to collect plastic waste
  • Promote and educate community members at home about proper plastic waste disposal
  • Encourage the reduction of plastic use and promote recycling
  • Plant trees to improve the garden (in the Mechrey pagoda area) to further uplift the Mechrey community
  • Additionally, educational materials were distributed to students at Mechrey Primary School to encourage them to continue their studies diligently.

This program truly could not have happened without the enthusiastic cooperation from institutions and all participants as described above. Furthermore, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the Board of Directors, leadership team, and members of JCI Siem Reap for their heartfelt support in terms of manpower, materials, and funding to make this program possible, with the following contributors:
